Gas generator sets refer to the power generation device that uses various combustible gas, with the internal combustion engine as the prime mover to drive the alternator and convert mechanical energy into electrical and thermal energy. They mainly consists of a gas engine, alternator and control system. It is efficient, economical, clean and environment-friendly.

Classification of Gas generator sets:
1. According to different gas, the gas generator set can be classified into Natural gas generator sets, Coal Mine Gas generator sets, Gaseous biofuel generator sets, Coal gas generator sets, and Industrial Off-gas generator sets, etc.
2. According to the engine speed, the gas generator set can be classified into High-speed gas generator sets (speed more than 1000 rpm), and Medium-speed gas generator sets (speed at 300 to 1000 rpm).
Advantages of Medium-speed gas generator sets Compared with high-speed generator sets, the main advantages of medium-speed gas generator sets are:
1. Long service life, low speed can greatly reduce the friction pair of the engine, reduce the wear and failure rate of key components, improve reliability, extend the service life of parts, and the unit life can reach more than 20 years;
2. Low maintenance cost, due to low speed and low wear, the failure rate of components is low, the service time is long, and the maintenance cost of the unit is low;
3. The overhaul cycle is long. The overhaul cycle of medium speed gas generator sets is generally over 60000 hours, while the overhaul cycle of high-speed gas generator sets generally does not exceed 20000 hours;
4. High thermal efficiency, due to low rotational speed, the mixing and combustion time of gas and air in the cylinder is long, and the gas combustion is complete.
