Classification of Generator Sets:
1. According to driving power form, gensets can be classified into Internal combustion engine generator sets (also referred to as Engine generator sets) and Turbine generator sets, wherein according to different fuels, the engine generator sets can be classified into Liquid fuel generator sets, Gas generator sets and Dual fuel generator sets; according to types of energy, the turbine generator sets can be classified into Gas turbine generator set, Steam turbine generator set, hydro turbine generator set and wind turbine generators.
2. According to the classification of operating environment, the generator sets can be divided into Stationary generator sets, Marine generator sets and Oilfield generator sets;
3. According to the classification of different purposes, the generator sets are classified into Standard generator sets and Special generator sets, wherein, the special generator sets can be divided into Enclosed generator sets, Mobile generator sets and emergency generator sets.
4. According to engine speed, gensets can be classified into High-speed generator sets (speed > 1000 r/min), Medium-speed generator sets (speed from 400 to 1000 r/min), and Low-speed generator sets (speed < 400 r/min).
5. According to the classification of output voltage, the generator sets can be divided into Low-voltage generator sets (voltage less than 1 kV), Medium voltage generator sets (voltage:1 kV-10 kV) and High-voltage generator sets (voltage ≥ 10 kV);
