Gaseous Fossil Fuels, refer to combustible gases that exist in gaseous form in nature and are formed through long-term geological processes from the remains of ancient organisms. The main components are methane (CH₄) and low molecular weight hydrocarbons, which belong to non renewable energy sources. This type of fuel releases a large amount of heat energy during combustion and is widely used in fields such as power generation, industrial heating, household heating, and cooking.
The Gaseous fossil fuels include two categories: Natural gas (NG), and Liquefied petroleum gas (LPG).
1. Natural Gas, refers to a mixed gaseous fossil fuel primarily composed of methane. including Conventional natural gas, and Unconventional natural gas.
■ Conventional natural gas, such as field gas, associated gas, and condensate gas, etc;
■ Unconventional natural gas, such as shale gas, coalbed methane, tight gas, and natural gas hydrate, etc.
2. Liquefied Petroleum Gas(LPG), refers to a mixed gas composed of hydrocarbons produced during the process of petroleum refining. It is a kind of clean-burning fossil fuel that can be used to drive turbine or internal combustion engines. It is a mixture of propane and butane, usually accompanied by a small amount of propylene and butane.
The power plant can use fossil fuels (such as natural gas, fossil oil, and coal, etc.) or renewable energy sources (such as water, wind, solar energy, and biomass energy, etc.). In short, it is economical and environmentally friendly to choose the fuels or energy forms that are easy to get and suitable for you.
Natural Gas, refer to the mixed gaseous fossil fuels primarily composed of methane. It is one of the cleanest burning alternative fuels. it can be divided into two categories: Conventional natural gas and Unconventional natural gas.
